Two Random Tools, One Place

This toolkit brings together two essential random selection utilities: pick random names from a list and generate random numbers within any range.

Everything runs locally in your browser. Your data never touches a server — it stays on your device from start to finish.

Name Picker — How it works

Enter a list of names (one per line), click "Draw winner", and a random name is selected. The tool shows the result with a confetti celebration and sound effect.

You can toggle "Remove winner from list" to prevent the same person from winning twice. Every draw is saved to history with a timestamp.

Best for: Giveaways, raffles, classroom activities, team selection, random choice scenarios.
Number Generator — How it works

Set a minimum and maximum value, click "Generate random number", and a number within that range is selected. The result is displayed with an animation.

Every generated number is saved to history with a timestamp. The statistics panel shows total draws, average value, and the last number drawn.

Best for: Contests, raffles, lucky number selection, random assignment scenarios.

Why This Toolkit Is Better

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the selections truly random?

Both tools use Math.random(), which is a pseudo-random number generator. For most use cases like giveaways, raffles, and classroom activities, it's more than sufficient and provides a fair, unbiased selection.

Can I use this for a YouTube giveaway?

Yes. Many creators use the Name Picker for comment giveaways. You can copy the list of usernames, paste them in, and draw a winner.

What happens if I refresh the page?

Your data is saved in local storage. If you refresh, your name list, number range, and history will still be there. Clearing your browser data will remove them.

Can I export the history?

Yes. Both tools have an "Export history (.txt)" button that downloads the full draw history as a text file.
