How double elimination works ▼

In a double-elimination tournament, a player is only eliminated after their second loss. First losses send competitors to the losers bracket, where they fight for a chance to reach the grand finals.

How it works

  • Winners Bracket — Undefeated players compete
  • Losers Bracket — Players who lost once compete for redemption
  • Grand Finals — Winners bracket champion vs Losers bracket champion (may require bracket reset if losers win)

Bracket structure

  • 4 players: 3 rounds (Winners: Semis, Finals; Losers: Round 1, Finals; Grand Final)
  • 8 players: 6 rounds (Winners QF/SF/F; Losers R1/R2/R3/SF/F; Grand Final)
  • 16 players: 8+ rounds, full double elimination bracket
  • 32 players: Complete 32-player double elimination bracket
